June 2011

MotoIQ has a feature up on Walker Wilkerson.

Check out the cool tech details on his purple machine that has the last SR in Formula Drift competition.

Walker earned his FD license through Evergreen ProAm and we are excited to see him living the dream and doing so well playing with the big boys!

Skip over to MotoIQ for the article and be sure to cheer Walker and the other Northwest Locals on at Round 5 at Evergreen Speedway: The Kid Rocks! A Look Inside Walker Wilkerson’s Nissan S13

Peter Funatake is throwing a car wash/meet to raise funds to finish his FD build in time to compete at Formula Drift Round 5 right here at Evergreen Speedway. Help a brother out and get your car cleaned at the Port Orchard A&W Rootbeer on July 1st!

Spread the word and bring a friend with a dirty car.

UPDATE: 6/24/11 - The car has been recovered! The news went viral on Facebook and a friend of a friend who saw the post spotted the car abandoned at 25th and Lombard Ave. in North Everett and called it into the police. Great work from the NW community.

Here is what Galen had to say on Facebook.

"Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know my car was recovered in Everett this morning. Everything is cool, some stuff is missing, but who cares I'm just glad to get my car back. Thank you all soooo much for your help and effort and all of your kindness. All of you are such great people and I can't thank you all enough. Especially those of you I don't know. So THANK YOU"

". . .Nothing is really wrong or gone. my safc is gone, my arai, some clothes. door handle and steering column is broken. so glad. isn't bad at all. The car doesn't run right now, the fuel pump isn't coming on. Haven't really looked into it.... But I have a feeling that with all the wires torn out of the ignition something shorted the fuel pump circuit. I think they were on the way to strip the whole car and sell everything but it died so they had to abandon it. And they panicked and just took what they could fast and left. Overall pretty awesome, and amazingly lucky. Thanks again everyone."

We're glad to hear Galen has his car back and hope that the authorities can put a quick end to the Everett chop shops that have been the scourge of the drift community.

------

Galen's car was stolen the night of June 22 off of HWY99 in Lynnwood

It's a maroon X8 with a smashed up unpainted Serialnine body kit. It has a 1JZ, Megan coils, Sparco seat and wheel, big "JZPOWERED" windshield banner, and it's loud as ----.

Custom fabricated piping in the engine bay plus a rusty steel sunroof delete panel make this car stand out.

License plate is 426-XQD.

If you have any information on this car please report it to 911 immediately.

Hopefully justice will be served quickly and Galen can get back out on the track quickly!

Here are a few more pics to help identification.

Formula Drift comes to Palm Beach International Raceway for the first time.

An all new course is already producing some killer backwards entries in practice so this should be a great show.

If you are not lucky enough to attend in person catch all the action on the live Drift Stream!

Can the local boy Walker Wilkerson keep up his stellar results to defend his Rookie of the Year points and advance his 9th overall position?
